Povr\u0161ina Pelje\u0161ca je 348 km2. s kopnom je spojen Stonskom prevlakom koja je na naju\u017eem dijelu \u0161iroka 1450 m.

Kor\u010dula<\/h3>\n

Razvijeno je poljodjelstvo, ribolov, brodogradnja i turizam.<\/p>\n

To je \u0161esti najve\u0107i Jadranski otok. Otok je trajektima povezan s Orebi\u0107em na poluotoku Pelje\u0161cu, te Ublima na otoku Lastovu a ljeti i s Drvenikom blizu Makarske. Trajekti dr\u017ee vezu i s drugim gradovima, kao \u0161to su Dubrovnik, Split i Rijeka, a ljeti i s Italijom.

Ba\u0107inska jezera<\/h3>\n

Jezera su relativno mala (138 hektara), ali spadaju u red najzanimljivijih pojava u hidrografiji kr\u0161a. Nepravilnog su oblika, \u0161to se osobito odra\u017eava na reljefu dna.\u00a0Sastoje se od \u0161est spojenih i jednog odvojenog jezera.<\/span>
